Most students in Taylor County attend one of the four schools operated by the Taylor County School District: one high school, one middle school, one elementary school and one primary school. All four schools are accredited by AdvancED.

The Taylor County School District has a four-year graduation rate of 85.7% as of 2018, which is higher than the state-wide graduation rate. Taylor County high school students also scored higher than the state average in college readiness, and a higher percentage enroll in college than the state average.

High school graduates can stay close to home for their post-secondary education. Geographically, Taylor County has the advantage of bordering four Technical College System of Georgia college service delivery areas. This provides Taylor County residents more choice in selecting programs that best suit their interests. Additionally, several colleges and universities are less than 45 minutes away.
